Nea Diagonios opened its doors in Thessaloniki in February 2009, continuing the legacy of “Diagonios,” which had been operating in the city center since 1976. The second generation took over with the aim of preserving the restaurant’s gastronomic identity while bringing it into the present with a clear and contemporary approach.

Today, Nea Diagonios is located in Eastern Thessaloniki, in a bright and understated space overlooking the sea. The architecture and atmosphere reflect the same philosophy as the cuisine: simplicity, quality, and balance.

The kitchen is built around the power of fire, the careful selection of cuts, and the honest, restrained expression of Greek flavors. Classic dishes coexist with more modern interpretations, without losing the character and memory that define each plate.

Our goal is not to impress, but to remain consistent and to evolve. Nea Diagonios continues to be a place of hospitality and meaningful gastronomy, honoring its past while moving forward with clarity and purpose.

“Diagonios” had been operating in the city center since 1976, founded by the parents of the current owner.

2009

Since February 14, 2009, a “new” dining destination has opened in Thessaloniki: Nea Diagonios, located on Themistokli Sofouli Street in Eastern Thessaloniki.
